Any respectable league or skater for that matter, knows the importance of referees during time on the flat track.  Without referees, bouts wouldn't happen, in fact roller derby as a competitive sport wouldn't happen. These men and women are the fundamental foundation of the integrity of the game and they take a lot of abuse to bring you the fairest and safest bouts possible!
